BASIC INFORMATION

  1. Pursuant to article 173 of the Telecommunications Act of 16 July 2004 Michał Michajłow who runs a business under the name Kancelaria Adwokacka Adwokat Michał Michajłow, al. Niepodległości 31, 61-714 Poznan, is hereinafter referred to as the “Website Controller”.
  2. The Website Controller implements the cookie policy, hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”, concerning the cookie files at the webpage: www.michajlow.pl and its subpages.
  3. „Website” includes: the Internet-based www.michajlow.pl webpage with all its functions and tools available via this website.
  4. “User” – any person who in any way uses the website’s resources.
  5. “Personal data” – shall be understood as information containing personal data within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act, among others, full name, phone number, e-mail address and other data, including address details, introduced by the User.

COOKIE FILES

What are cookies?

Cookie files are text files, stored on users’ terminal devices intended for using webpages. These files enable identification of the user’s device and displaying the webpage in a form matching their individual preferences. Cookies usually contain the name of the webpage they come from, the time of being stored on the terminal device and a unique number.

What do we use cookies for?

Cookies are used to adjust the content of webpages to user preferences and to optimize the use of webpages. They are also used to create anonymous (without personal identification of the user) aggregated statistics that help to understand how the user uses the webpages, which allows improving their structure and content.

Which cookies do we use?

As a principle, we use two kinds of cookies – session and persistent. The first cookies are temporary files that remain on the user’s device until logging out of the webpage or turning off the web browser. Persistent files remain on the user’s device for the time specified in the parameters of cookies or until they are manually removed by the user. Cookies used by the webpage operator’s partners, in particular webpage users, are subject to their own privacy policy. Cookies can also be distinguished in more detail due to: a. Types of cookies according to their importance for providing a service: i. Necessary – they are absolutely necessary for the proper functioning of the webpage or functionalities that the user wants to use ii. Functional – they are important for the operation of the website: they serve to enhance the functionality of the website, without them the website will work properly, but it will not be adapted to the user’s preferences; they are used to ensure a high level of website functionality, without the settings saved in the cookie file, the level of functionality of the website may decrease, but it should not prevent its full use; they serve very important functionalities of the website, blocking them will cause selected functions not work properly; iii. Business – enable the implementation of a business model based on which the site is made available, blocking them will not result in the unavailability of the entire website’s functionality, but may reduce the level of service due to the inability of the site owner to subsidize the site. This category includes, for example, advertising or statistical cookies b. Due to the period of storing cookies on the user’s terminal device: i. Temporary cookies (session cookies) – cookies stored for the time of using the browser (session), are removed after its closing ii. Persistent cookies – they are not removed when the browser is closed, and they remain on the user’s device for a specified period of time or without a validity period depending on the site owner’s settings c. Due to their origin – the controller of the site who manages cookies: i. First party cookie – cookie placed directly by the owner of the site that was visited ii. Third-party cookie – cookie placed by external entities whose page components were triggered by the site owner d. Due to the purpose served: i. Website configuration – they enable setting functions and services on the site ii. Website security and reliability – they enable verification of authenticity and optimization of service performance iii. Authentication – they enable provision of information when a user is logged in, so that the site can show relevant information and functions iv. Session state – they enable saving of information about the way the users use the site. They can refer to the most frequently visited webpages or possible error messages displayed on some webpages. Cookies used to save the so-called “session state” help improve services and increase the comfort of browsing. v. Processes – they enable efficient operation of the site itself and the functions available on it vi. Advertisements – they enable displaying of ads that are more interesting to users, and at the same time more valuable to publishers and advertisers, personalizing ads, and can also be used to display ads outside the pages of a website (domain) vii. Location – they enable customizing the displayed information to the user’s location viii. Analyses and research, viewing audit – they enable site owners to better understand their users’ preferences and through analysis improve and develop products and services. Typically, the website owner or research company collects information anonymously and processes trend data without identifying the personal information of individual users e. Types of cookies due to their interference with user’s privacy: i. Harmless – includes cookies necessary for the proper operation of the site; needed to enable the functionality of the site, but their operation has nothing to do with user tracking ii. Researching – used to track users, however, they do not include information allowing for identification of a specific user

Do cookies contain personal data?

Personal data gathered using “cookies” can be collected only to perform specific functions for the user. Such data are encrypted in a way that prevents unauthorized access to them.

Removing cookies

By default, the software used for browsing webpages allows to place “cookies” on a terminal device. These settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the settings of the Internet browser or inform about each instance they are sent to the user’s device. Detailed information on the possibility and the ways of using cookies is available in the settings of software (Internet browser). Restricting the use of cookies may affect some of the functionalities available on the webpage.

IV
FINAL PROVISIONS

To matters not covered by this Policy, the applicable law, in particular the Personal Data Protection Act and the Telecommunications Act shall apply.

The Website Controller reserves the right to amend this Policy. The amendments come into effect at the moment of publishing the amended Policy on the website.
